ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office identified an Allentown woman who was killed in a motor scooter crash.
Angelica M. Rivera-Perez, 42, was pronounced dead early Saturday morning at a local hospital, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said in a news release.
Buglio said Rivera-Perez’s cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.
Rivera-Perez was killed after being hit by a car on South 4th Street in Allentown around 11:30 p.m. Friday. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, Buglio said.
22-year-old Eliezer Julius Santiago was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence.
Authorities said he originally fled the scene and was arrested a short distance away when he nearly hit a police car.
