WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Pennsylvania authorities announced charges Monday against 12 people accused of trafficking marijuana and other high-level THC products from warehouses to convenience stores.
Attorney General Dave Sunday said a long-term investigation found that several members of the group were allegedly laundering millions of dollars connected to the illegal sales. He said the group was primarily using LLC fronts to mask the source of the income, but investigators were able to trace around $18.7 million to illegal proceeds
Authorities seized around 150,000 items from three warehouses that Sunday said served as distribution hubs. Those warehouses are located in Plum Borough, Allegheny County; Pittston, Luzerne County; and Bensalem, Bucks County.
Investigators also served warrants at convenience stores and smoke shops across Pennsylvania, Sunday said.
