ALLENTOWN (WFMZ), Pa. – The landscape of television is always changing.

And the look of some of the programming at 69 WFMZ-TV is getting an update.

Longtime viewers will notice the changes.

For a half century, WFMZ-TV and its production company, MBC Teleproductions, has worked with local partners to provide community-based programming to the Lehigh Valley.

Now, it’s time for a makeover.

The upgrades in “Studio B” will include new lights, new cameras, an LED video wall, and an eye-catching wrap-around video screen that Production Manager Adam Klein says took every inch to squeeze in.

“Even just a little bit of space would help. We did knock out a wall, poured concrete, extended the space,” said Klein.

The wrap-around screen gives the studio several different looks with the touch of a button. The studio offers more gathering space for in-studio debates and other tapings.

“I think it gives a voice to the community that otherwise wouldn’t be there,” said Barry Fisher, WFMZ-TV President and General Manager. “Business Matters has had hundreds, maybe even thousands of guests by now from all parties and all walks of life.”

One of WFMZ-TV’s longest-running shows has been Talk With Your Doctor. St. Luke’s has partnered with the station for more than 25 years.

“We hope that our audience will find that it appeals to them and gives them everything they need to know, said Dr. Jeffrey Jahre, Senior Vice President of Medical and Academics at St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Along with the new studio, the new host for ‘Talk With Your Doctor’ is a familiar face: former WFMZ Anchor and Health Reporter, Melanie Falcon.

“I’m excited to work with the MBC Teleproductions crew. They’re just awesome to work with, and this new set is really cool, and there are a lot of different opportunities with it. I’m excited to be one of those,” said Falcon.

Talk With Your Doctor was the first show to air from the newly renovated ‘Studio B’.

Talk With Your Doctor airs Mondays at 6:30 p.m. The studio will also house future political debates, including Ryan Mackenzie and Bob Brooks in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.
