SALISBURY TWP., Pa. – A motorcyclist who was killed after being hit by a car in Salisbury Township has been identified.
Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio identified the victim as 39-year-old Adam M. Reed of Fountain Hill.
Buglio said Reed was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma, and the manner of death is accident, Buglio said.
The crash happened on the 1100 block of East Susquehanna Street around 9 p.m. Friday.
An investigation found an SUV driving east was tailgating another vehicle before it crossed the double yellow line to pass it, authorities said.
Authorities say the SUV ended up hitting the motorcyclist head on.
Reed was rushed to the hospital and later died.
Police say the driver of the SUV was also injured. Criminal charges are pending against the driver.
