Allentown man dies more than year after being shot in Philadelphia, coroner says | Allentown Area

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – An Allentown man has died, more than a year after being shot in Philadelphia.

Jose A. Ramos Cepeda, 39, was pronounced dead on Sunday afternoon at a local hospital, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said in a news release.

Buglio said the cause of death is complications of gunshot wounds, and the manner of death is being ruled a homicide.

The incident happened on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, shortly before 9:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of East Luzerne Street in Philadelphia, according to Buglio.

In addition to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center, the Philadelphia Police Department and the Philadelphia County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
