BUSHKILL TWP., Pa.- A popular pet groomer and kennel in Northampton County is officially in its CAHW era.
CAHW stands for the Center for Animal Health and Welfare. This past weekend the nonprofit based near Easton celebrated the grand reopening of its new subsidiary, Homestead Kennels and Cattery at 575 Jacobsburg Road in Bushkill Township.
As 69 News previously reported, CAHW purchased Homestead earlier this year as a way to diversify its revenue stream.

“The addition of Homestead allows the organization to offer more resources for adopters and pet owners while helping it sustain and grow programs that help animals find and stay in their forever homes,” CAHW said, in a news release.
CAHW opened in 1913 and previously operated as the Northampton County SPCA. In 2003, it announced its intentions to transition to a no-kill shelter. It currently also runs an adoption facility and community vet clinic.
Homestead began operations in 1982 and offers grooming and boarding services for cats and dogs.
