Deadly crash between truck, car takes out pole, closes part of Route 8 in Butler County
BRADY TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
A fatal crash involving a car and a box truck took out a pole and closed part of Route 8 in Butler County Tuesday afternoon.
Sky 4, Pittsburgh’s only news chopper, was over the scene at William Flinn Highway and Duffy Road in Brady Township just before noon.
Aerials from the scene showed the box truck on its side with what appears to be shredded paper along the road.
Pennsylvania State Police said a car traveling west on Duffy Road did not stop at a stop sign and pulled out onto Route 8, where it was struck by the northbound truck.
The driver of the car died, police said. She was identified as Helen D. Schubert, 98, of West Sunbury.
Police said the driver of the truck had minor injuries.
