Twenty-five girls from the Lackawanna Golf League qualified for the District 2 Championships on Tuesday at Tall Pines Players Club in Friendsville.
Players needed to shoot 100 or lower in order to earn a spot at districts, which is Oct. 5 at Elkview Country Club.
Leading the way was Liz George of Abington Heights, who shot 77 (41-36) to lead the overall and Class 3A qualifying. Three of her Lady Comets teammates also qualified: Brianna Moffatt with a 79 (37-42), Margot Grad with an 88 (47-41) and Molly Nietz with a 91 (45-46).
North Pocono had three girls qualify in Class 3A: Julia Biko with an 83 (45-38), Ella Clementoni with a 100 (47-53) and Madison Gerlach also with a 100 (44-56). Valley View’s Ella Mackrell also qualified in Class 3A with an 86 (45-41).
Marley Reynolds from Honesdale led Class 2A qualifying with an 86 (44-42). Teammate Julie Saylor also qualified with a 91 (50-41).
Elk Lake had five golfers qualify, led by Nami Patton’s 87 (44-43). Raegan Sample shot a 90 (46-44), Piper Keeney (50-44) and Kierney Shalata (46-48) each had 94s and Hannah LaRue carded a 96 (49-47).
Four schools qualified two golfers each. Old Forge had Kam Notari (42-46—88) and Mia Fox (45-47—92). Riverside had Francesca Wincovitch (43-45—88) and Raigan Monahan (51-48—99). Lackawanna Trail had Kacie Antolick (48-45—93) and Lauren Dewey (50-50—100) and Mountain View had Charley Smith (52-43—95) and Emma Thatcher (51-45—96).
Also qualifying were Victoria Kipar of Montrose (46-45—91), Cece Franks from Forest City (50-46—96) and Mid Valley’s Molly Gilgallon (49-50—99).
Boys
At Lords Valley Country Club, Hunter Stead shot a 2-over 38 to lead Delaware Valley to a Lackawanna League Division I win over North Pocono, 166-180, on Tuesday.
Derick McAuliffe shot a 41, Adam Myers shot a 42 and Max Parker shot a 45 for Delaware Valley.
Braylon Radick led the Trojans with a 43.

Holy Cross 148, Susquehanna 193: At Scott Greens, Jackson Bohanski was medalist with a 2-over-par 35 to help Holy Cross earn a Division II win over Susquehanna.
Josh Toolan had birdies on Nos. 3 and 9 for the Crusaders. Liam Hart chipped in for a birdie on No. 8. Pete Boles also birdied No. 8.
