Boat fire on Allegheny River sinks vessel near Pittsburgh bridges
A boat caught fire and sank early Wednesday morning on the Allegheny River near Pittsburgh’s Andy Warhol and Roberto Clemente bridges.

A boat caught fire and sank early Wednesday morning on the Allegheny River near Pittsburgh’s Andy Warhol and Roberto Clemente bridges.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene just before 1 a.m. and found the boat fully engulfed in flames. Video shared by a viewer shows the fire as crews attempted to extinguish it from another boat.
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police said video footage shows an individual boarding the boat and fleeing the scene shortly before the fire started.
River Rescue crews were unable to locate anyone on the boat or in the water.
Officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire and are asking anyone with information to contact the fire investigative unit at 412-782-7646.
