SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A 17-year-old is facing charges after police say he threatened two women at gunpoint, trying to rob them of money and a car.
Justin Joel Sikaffy, 17, of Scranton, was arrested for his alleged involvement in two attempted armed robberies involving a stolen gun.
Scranton Police Department reported that on September 14, officers were called to Quincy Avenue and Vine Street for a man pointing a gun at a woman. The victim told officers that Sikaffy approached her, pointing a gun and demanding money. Sikaffy eventually fled the area without the money.

Police were then told of an attempted carjacking, where they said Sikaffy pointed the gun at a woman and demanded she get out of her vehicle. When she got out of the vehicle, it rolled down the hill and struck a fence; Sikaffy then fled the scene again.
Officers said they then deployed a K-9 unit and found Skiaffy’s hiding spot in a Scranton yard. He was arrested, and the stolen gun was recovered in a parking lot after Skiaffy tossed it.
Skiaffy faces robbery, evading arrest, gun offenses, and other charges related to the incident.
