State and local officials will be opening a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) for local residents and businesses who were affected by the destructive storms on Sep. 2 and 3 at the request of Erie County officials.
County officials announced the center will have several county and state agencies and offices, along with other volunteer organizations on hand to provide local services and information.

Officials will also be offering information on checking insurance coverage for damages, benefits and disability support, community support services, and other recovery information and resources available.
The MARC will be open daily Sep. 17-19, from 10:00 AM until 7:00 pm at the Salvation Army, 1022 Liberty St, Erie, PA 16502. The list of agencies scheduled to participate or offer information includes:
PA Department of Agriculture,
PA Department of Human Services,
PA Emergency Management Agency,
PA Insurance Department, and
PA Office of the Attorney General
“Strong wind from the severe storms caused significant damage to many homes, businesses and public property across Erie,” said Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) Director Randy Padfield. “Having necessary resources and services available in one location for the community makes it a little easier for everyone to navigate the recovery process.”
Erie City Council to hear ordinances moving $4M to storm relief
The City of Erie declared a state of emergency on Sep. 3 in the wake of the storms that damaged and downed trees across the city and left thousands of people without power, some for several days.
“From the beginning of this devastating storm, our focus has been on our Erie community and making sure our residents have the support and resources they need,” said Mayor Daria S. Devlin. “We are so grateful to PEMA and our state partners as we continue this work. We know there is still a lot to do, but we will continue to show up for our residents, work together, and do everything we can to help our community recover.”
“The damage from these storms has affected families, businesses and communities across Erie County, and this resource center brings the people and services they need together under one roof,” said Erie County Executive Christina M. Vogel. “We will continue working with our state and local partners to make sure our residents have the support they need to recover and rebuild.”
Erie County officials are still encouraging homeowners, renters, private non-profits, and businesses with damage from the storms to report the damage to their local emergency management agency or through the Erie County portal as soon as possible.
