Ten regional organizations were celebrated by UPMC Hamot as “Community Partnership Champions.”
They are being recognized for their commitment to our region. This is the hospital’s first-ever formal honoring ceremony for community partners.
They say this expands on what UPMC describes as “trust-based relationships” with a dedication to uplifting communities. Each organization represented a category of dedication, such as long-term support and better access to care.
“We all need to be recognized at some point for the work that we’re doing, but I think the message for me really comes down to how they can impact this community and how they’re doing it, so I’m very proud to be here today,” Robert Clemente Jr., a respected humanitarian, philanthropist, and former baseball player, shared.
“To be a part of it really shows this commitment to working together for the betterment of our community, to help Erie become better today than it was yesterday,” Carrie Grande, an honoree from Serve Erie, said.
UPMC also says recognizing these efforts shows the community the tremendous impact these collaborations can have.
