Erie County Community College
Students attending Erie County Community College (ECCC) will soon benefit from upgraded classrooms and improved facilities thanks to $900,000 in state grant funding announced by Pennsylvania State Representative Ryan Bizzarro.
The funding package includes $600,000 for Summit Campus classroom and facility upgrades and an additional $300,000 for improvements at the college’s West Campus. The investments are designed to help the college accommodate growing student enrollment, address workforce training needs, and complete critical repairs and renovations to aging facilities.
Bizzarro said the funding reflects the important role community colleges play in creating educational and career opportunities for residents throughout the region.
“Community colleges are places where people from every stage of life come together to learn, grow and build new opportunities. That is why investing in the Erie County Community College matters so much,” Bizzarro said. “Upgrading classrooms and facilities will give students the fresh, modern learning environments they deserve and help ensure that the college can continue to serve our community for years to come.”
The grant awards are part of a statewide initiative administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, which distributed more than $25.4 million to 14 community colleges across Pennsylvania. The funding is intended to strengthen educational infrastructure and support institutions as they prepare students for in-demand careers.
College officials say the planned improvements will enhance learning environments, expand capacity for workforce-related training programs, and ensure facilities remain equipped to meet the needs of current and future students.
The announcement also represents the latest in Bizzarro’s efforts to secure state funding for projects throughout Erie County. During the current legislative session, he has helped bring more than $64.1 million in state investments to the region for initiatives aimed at improving public services, infrastructure, education, and community development.
With the new funding, Erie County Community College is expected to move forward with key facility upgrades that will provide students with modernized spaces for learning while strengthening the college’s ability to support workforce development and economic growth across northwest Pennsylvania.
