READING, Pa. – GoggleWorks in Berks County will be offering a weekend screening in November of a local filmmaker’s documentary tracing his lineage.
The documentary short “Il Mio Posto a Tavola” (“My Place at the Table”) follows Santo Marabella, who was among thousands of children born out of wedlock when unwed mothers were pressured to give up their babies.
The film will be shown at the Boscov Theater at GoggleWorks on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m., and on Nov. 14 and Nov. 15 at 3 p.m.

Marabella Enterprises says it is offering a weekend screening of the short to celebrate that PBS will be airing it this fall.
Beginning Nov. 1, the more than 330 public television broadcasting stations in the United States will have the opportunity to air the film through a distribution agreement with NETA (National Educational Telecommunications Association), Marabella Enterprises says in a news release.
Marabella Enterprises, the presenting producer, said it granted NETA a limited release license to distribute the film to PBS stations for 12 months.
The agreement only includes broadcasting rights, but not streaming, Marabella Enterprises says.
Tracy Schott, a filmmaker who has collaborated with Marabella for more than 18 years, said the film would be a good fit for PBS.
“I’m excited for this opportunity to share this important film on a broader scale. PBS audiences are generally a well-informed, curious group of individuals who will likely be intrigued and inspired by the film,” Schott said.
