Amy Blackman, MA, MS, has been selected as the next Executive Director of the Crime Victim Center of Erie County (CVC) following an extensive search process, the organization announced this week.
Blackman currently serves as Co-Assistant Director and Director of Prevention Education for CVC and will now take on leadership of the organization’s operations, programs, and community services. According to CVC, Blackman was chosen for her experience, dedication, and longstanding commitment to supporting victims and survivors of crime throughout Erie County.
In her previous roles, Blackman helped lead prevention education initiatives while working closely with staff and community partners. Organization leaders say her experience has provided a strong understanding of CVC’s mission, services, and the needs of the individuals and families it serves.
As Executive Director, Blackman will oversee the organization’s comprehensive services, including counseling, advocacy, crisis support, and prevention education programs. The nonprofit provides these services at no cost to victims and survivors of crime across the region.
The Crime Victim Center of Erie County also expressed appreciation to Robert D. Maas, who served as Board President and Interim Executive Director during the search process, as well as members of the Board of Directors, staff, and community stakeholders who contributed to selecting the organization’s next leader.
In announcing the appointment, CVC said it looks forward to a new chapter under Blackman’s leadership while continuing its mission of supporting victims, survivors, and violence prevention efforts throughout the community.
