SCRANTON — The Lackawanna Historical Society is opening ticket sales for its popular October “Scranton After Dark” walking tours, which generally sell out well in advance, on Friday, Sept. 18.
The Scranton tours will be offered on Fridays between Oct. 9 and Oct. 30, at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased starting Friday at Tinyurl.com/ScrAfterDark.
The tours highlight local history and downtown architecture while also relating some of the more mysterious and darker stories of Scranton’s past.
Other fall society events include the Local History Fair on Oct. 3 at the Viewmont Mall.
On Saturday, Oct. 10, in place of its annual dinner, the society will mark its 140th anniversary with an Old-Fashioned Picnic at the Pothole at the Archbald Pothole State Park.
