Expectant and new parents in Erie received valuable support and guidance Thursday during a community baby shower hosted by AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania at the Salvation Army on Liberty Street.
The event brought together families, healthcare advocates, and community organizations to provide parents with access to important resources designed to help give children a healthy start in life.
Attendees learned about newborn care, including safe and healthy practices for infants during the critical early stages of development. Parents were also connected with referrals to medical professionals and healthcare services that can provide ongoing support for both children and their families.
In addition to healthcare information, participants received nutrition guidance aimed at helping parents make informed choices about their children’s health and well-being. Organizers said the event was designed to ensure families have the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the challenges and responsibilities of caring for a newborn.
The community baby shower reflects AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania’s ongoing commitment to supporting families and improving access to healthcare resources throughout the region. By bringing together parents and service providers in one location, the event created opportunities for families to receive assistance, ask questions, and build connections with organizations dedicated to helping children thrive.
Organizers hope the information and resources shared during the event will help local families feel more confident and prepared as they welcome the next generation of Erie residents.
