Pennsylvania invests in Lancaster County park expansion
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. —
The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has announced funding to support the expansion of Old Trolley Line Park in Mount Joy Township, Lancaster County.
Department Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn said the funding will help the township expand the park, connect visitors to nearby recreational amenities, and create new opportunities for outdoor recreation.
“This park will truly be not only a township asset, but a regional asset. And we’ll put this township on the map for people to really come and enjoy and explore all the great things you have around this area,” said Dunn.
Sen. James Malone also emphasized the broader benefits of investing in public land and green spaces.
“When we invest in publicly owned land and green spaces like this, everyone benefits. Public health improves with access to parks and spaces where neighbors can play sports, take bike rides or just peacefully read and take time to relax. Communities are also stronger when neighbors have accessible, desirable places to gather,” Malone said.
The state has invested more than $1 million in the development of Old Trolley Line Park since 2008.
