Homicide charges filed in shooting of 18-year-old pregnant woman in Clairton, Allegheny County
Ja’El Torres was killed in a shooting on Washington Avenue in Clairton, Pa.
CLAIRTON, Pa. —
A suspect is wanted on homicide charges in the deadly shooting of an 18-year-old pregnant woman in Allegheny County.
Ja’El Torres and her unborn baby, Jae’Lania, were shot and killed on Washington Avenue in Clairton on July 13. Police said a man was also injured and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
County police have requested an arrest warrant for Tyjeir Williams-Cunningham, 21, of Port Vue, according to a criminal complaint.
An online docket that was posted Thursday listed charges that included homicide and homicide of an unborn child.

Torres had recently graduated from high school and wanted to become an orthodontist, her family said.
“I just wish she got to live her adulthood and become a mom,” Torres’ mother, Rakell Greene, told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 in July.
