Reading Area Community College has been awarded 625,000 through the state’s College Capital Improvements program.
State Rep. Manny Guzman, a Reading Democrat, announced this week that RACC was one of 14 community colleges across Pennsylvania to receive a combined $25 million to support facility upgrades to improve campus life for learners.
“It is really gratifying to see these investments in our community colleges because they strengthen the facilities our students and communities rely on every day,” Guzman said. “Community colleges expand educational opportunities, support workforce development and help prepare students for the future. Investing in these institutions is an investment in our students, our workforce and the continued progress of our communities.”
Guzman said RACC will use $475,000 for compaction grouting at the Schmidt Training and Technology Center and $150,000 for a fire pump at Berks Hall.
