An allegation involving a student and staff member at Marvine Elementary that prompted an investigation was deemed unfounded by authorities.
The incident, reported to parents by the district earlier this month, involved a staff member placing a student onto a beanbag chair, according to a city police news release.
The staff member placed the student in the chair in an attempt to manage the student’s behavior, police said. The student was not injured and did not experience pain or distress, the release states.
Additionally, the staff member did not act with intent to injure the student, nor did they act in a manner that would support criminal charges, officials said.
“Based upon the information developed during the investigation, the circumstances were more consistent with an attempt to manage the student’s behavior than with an intentional or criminal act,” the news release states.
