WWE is one of the biggest companies in the world and with it, it has some of the biggest names in the world.
But while so much of that leads to so much good, there are also problems associated with things, often completely out of the control of WWE.
We’ve seen the rise of scalpers in recent times, with autograph hunters purely out there to get their hands on as much signed merchandise as possible in order to make a quick profit.
However, one of the other major issues WWE has encountered is members of the public posing as some of its superstars to scam others out of money.
Now, it’s happened again.
Man scammed out of over $40,000 thanks to ‘fake’ Rhea Ripley
There’s little WWE can do about this but reports coming from America suggest another has fallen victim to this scam.
WON reports how an impersonator – posing as Rhea Ripley – managed to scam the unfortunate person out of over $40,000 back in March this year.
This isn’t the first time this has happened with people posing as female WWE stars.
An Alexa Bliss impersonator landed themselves close to £1m in a similar scam, while Liv Morgan has also been the subject of such scams.
As of now, Ripley herself has not spoken out on the issue and in fairness, is unlikely to get involved.
Nevertheless, this remains a huge problem in society in general.
Quite what WWE can do about it is unknown but once again, it’s left the Average Joe out of pocket.
