NORTH ABINGTON TWP., LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A fall tradition at Roba Family Farms is back again. The Glowing Pumpkin Trail takes visitors through a quarter-mile nighttime walk filled with illuminated pumpkins, themed displays and seasonal scenes.
The attraction runs through Nov. 1, opening at sunset Wednesdays through Sundays. The trail combines real pumpkins grown at the farm with carved displays created by outside artists and features scenes inspired by Halloween favorites, carnival displays, illuminated ghosts and other themed stops. Some of the larger pumpkins also release pumpkin-spice-scented fog as visitors make their way through the trail.
Tony Mercuri, general manager of Roba Family Farms, said the attraction has become one of the farm’s best seasonal traditions and continues to draw returning families several years after it was introduced.
“There’s always a line outside the gate of people just waiting for it to open, and every year, every day, it seems to get a little busier and busier with how many people are coming out to see it. So it’s a family tradition for a lot of people. I came here as a little kid with my parents. My grandparents brought me here. So it’s really cool now that I can bring my kids here. I think a lot of people have that similar story. They think, ‘Okay, it’s getting a little cooler. The leaves are starting to change color. Let’s go to Roba’s,’” said Mercuri.
Mercuri added that the trail has been at the farm since at least 2023, with new scenes and attractions added over the years. The layout is designed so visitors cannot always see what is around the next turn, giving each section of the trail an element of surprise.
