Chapter 435 of the Vietnam Veterans of America held its annual POW/MIA Watch Fire, honoring veterans of the Vietnam War who are still unaccounted for.
The ceremony included a rifle salute and the playing of Taps before the watch fire was lit. It was an emotional evening dedicated to remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who still have not made it home.
POW/MIA Remembrance Day is observed on the third Friday of September each year. The watch fire continues to burn through the night, serving as a reminder of the veterans who remain missing and the importance of never forgetting their service and sacrifice.
