Will Deopere and the Bethlehem Banshees quickly took care of business against the Nelson County Cardinals Tuesday night.
Deopere had a hat trick as well as two assists in Bethlehem’s 8-0 shutout win over crosstown 19th District rival Nelson County at Five Star Field.
Cayden Greenwell added a goal and an assist, while Wyatt Bagby, Cruz Hurst, Ethan Mullins and Nate Hedgespeth each scored once.
Daniel Riis had one assist for the Eagles, who improved to 3-5-1 overall and 2-1 in the district.
Goalkeeper Brady Matherly recorded a clean sheet in goal, stopping all six shots he faced from Nelson County.
Cardinals reserve keeper Jamie Curtsinger stopped three of the five shots on goal he faced from Bethlehem.
Nelson County fell to 1-2 in the district.
The Eagles play at 5th Region rival North Hardin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Cardinals host Spencer County at 7:30 p.m. Monday and host Anderson County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Ryder Roby had two goals and an assist and Naru Sugie also scored twice as the Tigers shut out the Bulldogs Thursday night at Garnis Martin Field.
Carson Kinniard added a goal and three assists for Bardstown, which is now 9-3-1 on the year after winning its sixth straight game.
Luca Blasco scored once and Braylen Stepp had a pair of assists.

Santiago Hinestroza scored once as the Cardinals (6-8) fell to the visiting Eagles Thursday night.
Goalkeeper Easton Curtsinger stopped nine of the 14 shots he faced from North Bullitt.

Sugie and Stepp each scored once and Blasco assisted on both as Bardstown topped region rival North Hardin Tuesday night on the road.

No. 1 Central Hardin 3, No. 18 Bethlehem 1
The Banshees (9-4) went toe-to-toe with the state’s top-ranked team Wednesday night, coming up just short in a loss to the unbeaten Bruins (12-0-2).
Catherine Deopere scored Bethlehem’s lone goal on the night, and goalkeeper Reonna Morgan stopped six of the nine shots she faced from Central Hardin.
Bethlehem hosts Brown at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the All ‘A’ Sectionals at Five Star Field.

Allison Jones scored once as the host Cardinals played to a draw with the Hawks Wednesday evening.
