A new health-focused cafe wants to serve quality food and drinks to customers in Bethlehem.
Grounded Cafe opened in April within Yoga Lab at 623 E. Broad St. in Bethlehem, said Jeong “CK” Klees, who owns both.
The cafe offers organic coffee, lattes, juices, smoothies and pastries such as croissants, muffins and bagels. Klees said visitors can also eventually expect new menu items such as chia pudding, chicken and vegetable sandwiches and soups.
Klees is originally from South Korea and moved to the United States in 2008. She held a grand opening last year for Yoga Lab, which offers classes for aerial yoga and Pilates, and now works as both instructor and barista.
Klees said she loves coffee, learning about it from visiting Italy, but also wants to promote healthy eating.
Healthier eating, flexibility and mobility should be part of the journey for a “good, graceful life,” she said, and that requires patience over fast-tracking or finding a “magic pill.”
“It’s a lot of investment of time and yourself,” Klees said.
The cafe is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Lehigh Valley retail and restaurant news in brief
Katie’s Country Kitchen: The restaurant closed Monday at 4804 Route 309 in North Whitehall Township.
Hobby Lobby: The chain for arts and crafts and home decor opened a new location Sept. 11 at the Airport Shopping Center in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.
Onward Coffee: The coffee trailer announced it will open next month at the space for a former stationery store, the paperbag, at The Shops at 3900 Hamilton in South Whitehall Township. The stationery store closed in January after 44 years in the Lehigh Valley.
“Here’s to honoring what came before us, creating something of our own, and hopefully becoming a small part of the story for the next 44 years,” the announcement said.
Retroware Arcade: The Lansdale-based arcade was scheduled to have a grand opening for Saturday, Sept. 19, inside Planet Retro Video Games at 109 W. Broad Street in Quakertown, according to an online announcement, following an August soft launch. The arcade features more than 30 games, from 1980s classics to modern Japanese rhythm games and more. The new location will also host private parties and fundraising events.

The second-annual Tastes & Toasts of Nazareth taste trail event will run 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 26 in downtown Nazareth, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce website said.
The Easton-based Platinum Star Cleaning company was named to the “2026 CO – 100” list by the United States Chamber of Commerce, the chamber website said.
“This exclusive list recognizes 100 of the best and brightest small and mid-sized businesses across America, celebrated for their remarkable contributions in driving innovation, growth, and ingenuity both locally and globally,” the website said while also recognizing the company for its customer service.
The businesses from the list generate over $340 million in annual revenue and employ over 2,500 people.
Aaron Coleman, who owns Platinum Star with his husband Tony Austin, said in a news release, “This recognition belongs to our entire Platinum Star family. Our employees are the people who walk through our customers’ doors every day, represent our values and make this company what it is. It also belongs to the customers who have trusted us in their homes and businesses and to the Lehigh Valley community that has supported us as we have grown.”
