Chicken barbecue
VFW Post 7069 and its Auxiliary will hold a chicken barbecue Sept. 26, serving from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Donation is $15, which includes half a chicken, baked potatoes, vegetables, coleslaw, roll and butter, and dessert. Also includes a 50/50 raffle and basket raffle. Duryea Veterans of Foreign Wars Third Annual Golf Tournament, Oct. 3, Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course, registration at 7:30 a.m. and shotgun start, 9. Post 4909 Halloween party
Dupont VFW Post 4909 Home Association annual Halloween party, Oct. 31, post’s main banquet hall, 401 Main St., with entertainment by the Fabulous 45’s. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., dinner served at 6, music from 7-10 and cash bar from 4:30-10, $30/person. Deadline for reservations is the Wednesday before the party. Tickets cannot be sold at the door. All PLCB regulations apply. Prizes for funniest, scariest, etc., costumes will be awarded. Also, tickets for the Dec. 5 Christmas party are now available for purchase, $30, with entertainment provided by the Sperazza Band.
