EMMAUS, Pa. – The Farewell to Summer Festival took place on Saturday in Lehigh County to celebrate the changing seasons.
The free community event filled Emmaus Triangle Park and Main Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with family-fun activities for all to enjoy.
The Farewell to Summer Festival featured more than 50 local vendors, food trucks, and a variety of activities throughout the borough.
Additionally, kids had several activities to participate in, including the Touch-a-Truck experience, a tie-dye station, a character meet-and-greet with Moana and Spider-Man, and a screening of The Goonies at Emmaus Theatre.
The Easton event kicked off at 11 a.m. with a free 30-minute outdoor mat Pilates class in Triangle Park.
Alongside visiting booths and artisan vendors, the popular Scarecrow Trail returned to encourage participants to visit downtown businesses throughout the festival.
At each stop on the trail, guests could collect puzzle pieces to build a scarecrow and complete their trail passport. Completed passports were entered into a raffle for a chance to win $50 in local gift cards, event organizers say.
“The Farewell to Summer Festival is more than an event; it’s a celebration of community,” said Hayden Rinde, Manager of the Emmaus Main Street Partners.
“Year after year, it brings together neighbors and welcomes new visitors to town, shines a spotlight on local businesses, and creates lasting memories in the heart of the Emmaus Borough,” Rinde added.
