(WJET/WFXP)– The Erie man convicted in June of being at the center murder of a 2024 murder will spend at least the next 18 years in prison.
The Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday that 39-year-old Jeffery Edmond was sentenced to 18-40 years for the murder of Ledomperignon Eady in October 2024.

Edmond was convicted after a trial of third-degree murder, with prosecutors saying that he was seen on video chasing Eady down and attacking him almost single-handedly.
Eady was found severely beaten the night of October 30, 2024, in the 1000 block of East 26th Street and was pronounced dead later that evening. The Erie County Coroner’s Office later determined he died from blunt-force trauma to the head and neck.

Three others, 63-year-old Jack Defilippo, 44-year-old Devon Barnett and 38-year-old Leah Hardin, were also charged in the wake of the deadly attack.
Defilippo pleaded guilty to two counts of simple assault and reckless endangerment and was sentenced to 11 and a half to 22 months in prison due to his cooperation that led to Edmond’s conviction.
Barnett and Hardin still have their cases pending.
