6th Annual Honeybee and Harvest Day Festival held in Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — The 6th annual Honeybee and Harvest Day Festival was held at Nay Aug Park on Sunday afternoon, featuring games, food, drinks, and live demonstrations to teach folks about the vital role honeybees play in our society.

The Greenhouse Project Scranton helped put on the free event and works to teach others about wellness, sustainability and education to children, families and adults in Northeastern PA.

“We try to help people open their eyes and learn more about those very small creatures that play such a vital role in the harvest of food that we need to eat every year,” Kimberly Crafton, Coordinator of the Greenhouse Project Scranton, said.

Crafton says the Honeybee and Harvest Day Festival is one of the biggest events the project hosts throughout the year to encourage folks to notice those little things around you that make the world go round.
