(WJET/WFXP)– Pennsylvania State Police said they seized over 50 pounds of marijuana and marijuana products over the course of two traffic stops in Erie County.
Pennsylvania State Police in Girard said both of those busts stemmed from troopers stopping the drivers on Interstate 90 over traffic violations, with the first happening on August 24 and the other on September 19.

During the August 24 stop on I-90 eastbound in Springfield Township, police said there were indicators of criminal activity that led to a search that allegedly uncovered approximately 23 pounds of marijuana, 1/2 pound of THC wax and $6,000 in cash.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Dalton Taylor of Cuba, New York, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor marijuana and paraphernalia possession, along with intention to possess a controlled substance. He’s since been released from Erie County prison after posting $15,000 bond.
The September 19 stop happened in Fairview Township, with police saying again there were indicators of criminal activity, with a K-9 alert leading to a search warrant and police allegedly finding roughly 30 pounds of marijuana, 300 rolled blunts of marijuana (roughly 1.5 pounds) and 1/2 pound of THC liquid in the trunk of the vehicle.

Police have since charged 30-year-old Mackenzie Ellis of Jamestown, New York, with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor marijuana and paraphernalia possession, along with intention to possess a controlled substance.
She’s being held in the Erie County Prison on $2,500 bond.
