Luzerne County Community College President John Yudichak was recognized Oct. 22 at the Northeast Sight Services Annual Awards Dinner, held at The Woodlands, as the recipient of the Distinguished Community Service Award. Sponsored by New Era Eye Care and presented by Dr. Brian O’Donnell, the Distinguished Community Service Award is given each year to a community leader whose life, values and generosity in service to others reflect an exceptional commitment to the people of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Yudichak was celebrated for his decades of leadership, service and advocacy on behalf of the region. Before coming to LCCC, Yudichak served for more than two decades in the Pennsylvania General Assembly, including as a state senator representing Carbon and Luzerne counties.

“John has dedicated his life to building stronger communities,” O’Donnell said. “His leadership and compassion have made a lasting difference throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania, and we are proud to recognize his service and commitment to others.”
