A new Toys R Us store will open this week in the Lehigh Valley as the chain works to open over 100 locations in the United States.
The new store is set to open Thursday at the Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall Township, a mall spokesperson said, in the upper level near OFFLINE by Aerie. It will be a standalone store and distinct from the pop-up selection at the mall’s Macy’s.
Another store used to operate nearby on Grape Street, but it closed with the rest of the chain’s locations in the United States in 2018 after operating under bankruptcy protection.
A Thursday news release announced a nationwide expansion of over 100 stores for the holidays in partnership with Go! Retail Group.
“Toys’R’Us has always been a place for discovery, and we’re building on that legacy by bringing customers the hottest toys, biggest trends and experiences that make the brand unlike any other,” said in the release Jamie Uitdenhowen, executive vice president of Toys’R’Us at WHP Global.
“This holiday season represents an extraordinary expansion for Toys’R’Us in the U.S., and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the magic of Toys’R’Us to so many communities across the country,” Go! Retail Group CEO Gideon Schlessinger said in the release.
