Lake Erie College invites students, faculty, educators, and community members to a special presentation by Fulbright Scholar Evelina Omagano Anyolo at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 25 in the Dickinson Auditorium, of Austin Hall on the Painesville campus.
The lecture will explore the vital role of Education for Sustainable Development in shaping the future of global education and building resilient communities, according to a news release.
Anyolo’s presentation will focus on ESD as a cornerstone for reimagining education beyond 2030.
While global initiatives like UNESCO’s Sustainable Development Goals advocate for inclusive and equitable quality education, the implementation of ESD remains uneven. Drawing from her extensive research and personal journey in Namibia and Sub-Saharan Africa, Anyolo will address the systemic constraints, resource limitations, and institutional challenges facing educators while highlighting transformative, context-responsive pedagogies that foster responsible global citizenship, the release stated.
