(WTAJ) — Multiple Chick-fil-A stores will spring up around Western Pennsylvania in the next two years.
The company announced an expansion of nine new locally owned stores in the region through 2028, which include Johnstown, Latrobe and a first-ever location in DuBois.
In May, the company submitted plans to DuBois City to take over the former Rite Aid location on Commons Drive. Now, Chick-fil-A confirmed it’s aiming to be open and operational by 2028 in DuBois.
Currently, a new location in Mars is set to open in October. In addition, Indiana will open its new restaurant by spring 2027, while the company works to open in Murrysville, Latrobe and Johnstown by the end of 2028.
“Western Pennsylvania is an exciting place for Chick-fil-A to continue growing because of the strong communities that make this region so special,” said Chad Terry, Area Director, Northeast Region. “As we expand the brand, we’re focused on creating more opportunities for local ownership, which in turn leads to new jobs and developing leaders within the restaurant. We look forward to seeing how Chick-fil-A will make a positive impact in each community we join.”
In addition to opening new locations, the company also commits to supporting the communities where it does business. This includes donating to Feeding America, local shelters and food banks, and developing future leaders.

The company touts that local Owner-Operators in western Pennsylvania have helped create over 400,000 meals for the hungry and will continue to do so.
