PENNSYLVANIA (WHP) — An equipment outage at the Philadelphia International Airport resulted in a ground stop, reportedly delaying dozens of flights on Monday.
CBS Philadelphia confirmed planes were stuck on the runway in the early afternoon.
The Philadelphia International Airport is one of three airports experiencing these delays — Newark Liberty International and Teterboro Airport are experiencing these issues as well.
“The FAA is pausing flights into Philadelphia International, Teterboro and Newark Liberty International airports due to issues with some frequencies at Philadelphia TRACON,” a spokesperson said.
Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) is an air traffic control facility that utilizes radar and radios to guide planes coming and going from airports.
Those traveling are advised to check the National Airspace System Status for real-time information on delays.
The ground stop at Philadelphia International Airport is no longer active, though subsequent delays still stand.
