A former Swoyersville man who was caught secretly recording a woman taking a shower over the summer was later found in possession of multiple videos shot up the skirt of another victim, according to borough police.
Sean Robert Boland, 30, whose address is now listed in Clarks Green, is accused of using his iPhone to secretly record a woman taking a shower at his former residence on Watkins Street in Swoyersville on the night of July 18.
According to the complaint, the woman, a female relative, had asked Boland to use his shower, and he had agreed but said he needed to use the bathroom first.
After he emerged, the woman went in and began taking a shower. As she washed her hair, the woman noticed a cellphone protruding from the pocket of a robe hanging on the bathroom door, police said.
Upon further inspection, the woman discovered the phone was actively recording the shower. She stopped the video, called 911 and stayed locked in the bathroom, fearing that Boland would try to take back his phone, according to the complaint.
Police described finding the woman “visibly upset, crying and shaking.”
Boland denied knowledge that his cellphone had been recording the woman in the bathroom.
However, police allege he can be seen setting up the phone at the beginning of the video depicting the nude woman showering.
Police say they also found six other videos on Boland’s cellphone in which he recorded up the skirt of another female relative.
The complaint alleges five of the videos were recorded in June at a family event in Dallas Twp., during which Boland had been “using his cellphone to film in low places” in an effort to record up the woman’s dress.
The sixth video was recorded at his home in July and targeted the same victim, police said.
Investigators charged Boland with a felony count of intercepting communications and three misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy.
Magisterial District Judge David A. Barilla arraigned Boland on the charges Monday and released him on $3,000 unsecured bail.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 6.
