A variety of free health services and community resources will be available to Erie residents during the upcoming Community Health Clinic and Resource Fair at the Erie Center for Arts & Technology.
The event is scheduled for September 24, at the Erie Center for Arts & Technology, located at 650 East Avenue. The health clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., while the resource fair will take place from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Several health screenings and services will be offered throughout the day. UPMC for You is partnering with Big Smiles Mobile Dental to provide dental cleanings for children and ages 0 to 19. Medicaid is preferred, but all insurance plans will be accepted. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling (814) 602-7164.
The Erie County Department of Health will also offer lead screenings. Families are encouraged to pre-register by calling (814)451-6700. The first 10 families who pre-register and complete testing will receive a $20 Walmart gift card.
Adults 18 and older can take advantage of several walk-in health screenings, including bone density, cholesterol, glucose, BMI and blood pressure checks, retinal screenings, and flu vaccinations.
Organizers say the event is designed to connect residents with important healthcare services while also providing information about local resources available throughout the community.
The Community Health Clinic and Resource Fair is sponsored by the Erie Center for Arts & Technology, the Erie County Department of Health, UPMC, and the City of Erie Redevelopment Authority.
