A nor’easter could impact the northeast coast and mid-Atlantic areas this weekend, but forecasters don’t believe it will be much of an issue for the Lehigh Valley.
“The impacts from this storm are going to be much much less than it would be for coastal New Jersey,” Michael Silva, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey, said.
The weather service is predicting a 20% to 40% chance of rain between Friday and Sunday in the Lehigh Valley. Any showers would be light and wind gusts would not likely be an issue, Silva said.
The weather service said Wednesday the nor’easter is expected to bring moderate and major coastal impacts, and there will likely be flood warnings along the coast, as well as high risk of rip currents.

Outside of the possibility of light rain this weekend, the Lehigh Valley will have most clear days with highs in the 60s.

Saturday: A chance of showers after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Sunday: A chance of showers before 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 75.
