READING, Pa. – An Eastern Lancaster School District van and an SUV crashed in Berks County on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at South 8th and Franklin streets around 9:25 a.m., police say.
A nearby surveliance camera recorded footage of the accident, which shows the bus traveling East on Franklin St. with a red light, and the SUV traveling South on S. 8th St. with a green light.
Authorities confirm the bus ran the red light and the two vehicles crashed in the intersection.
Both vehicles stopped against the building at 800 Franklin St. The building appears to have some damage from the accident, witnesses say.
According to police, the bus driver was issued a traffic citation for running the red light.
No students were in the van at the time of the incident, but the passengers in the SUV sustained minor injuries, authorities say.
