Crash ties up traffic on I-81 South in Lackawanna County

The crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday along I-81 South in Scranton.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — A crash is tying up traffic on I-81 in Lackawanna County.

Police say two vehicles collided in the Southbound lanes in Scranton around 1:20 p.m.

There is no word yet on whether anyone was hurt.

A portion of I-81 South was closed for about an hour after the crash; it has since reopened, but officials say there will be significant delays.

Drivers are advised to consider taking alternate routes.
