READING, Pa. — Franklyn’s Breakfast Burgers and Shakes is taking its business on the road with the addition of a new food truck.
About a year ago, Franklyn’s showed 69 News its newly renovated restaurant on Penn Street.
On Wednesday, it was time for another ribbon-cutting, but this time for the restaurant’s new food trailer.
The event started inside the restaurant, where owner Goslyn “Franklyn” Fleming said he wanted a way to grow the business without opening another location.
Fleming says customers won’t find the truck parked on a random street corner. Instead, the plan is to take it to larger events and private bookings.
“So I decided I’m going to expand the business by bringing in a food trailer, but just do big events. So you will not see me in the corner of any street trying to sell a hamburger,” Fleming said.
Fleming says people and organizations will also be able to hire the Franklyn’s food truck for their own events.
