Sarris ice cream ‘scoop shop’ coming to Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH —

If you’re a fan of Sarris ice cream, now you won’t have to go to Washington County to get it.

The candy company is opening a scoop shop inside the Market District supermarket on Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood.

Sarris says its new scoop shop will sell cones, sundaes, milkshakes and “grab and go” treats.

For the first time, customers will be able to get Sarris ice cream at a location other than the company’s Canonsburg parlor.

The new shop is set to open Thursday and will have daily hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
