PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- The head of Jefferson Health, the parent company of Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), has been tapped to serve as Board Chair of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia.
Joseph Cacchione is the first doctor and first CEO of a major health system in the role, the Chamber said.
Cacchione will take over on October 15, succeeding Christopher Franklin, the chairman and CEO of Essential Utilities.
“His leadership comes at an important time as the Chamber works to improve the region’s competitiveness, drive economic growth, expand opportunity for residents, and position Greater Philadelphia as a top global destination for business,” the Chamber said in a news release.
Cacchione joined the Chamber’s board of directors in 2022. He has served as CEO of Jefferson Health since 2022.
The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia serves 11 counties across three states. In Pennsylvania, those counties are Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia.
LVHN was acquired by Jefferson in 2024.
