Penn State Health has named Dr. Marthe Haverkamp and Matthew Kemmann to lead transformation and strategy efforts to advance growth and care delivery.
Haverkamp has been appointed vice president of transformation and Kemmann vice president of strategy. According to a release, the appointments are aimed at enhancing the health system’s leadership team as it advances strategic priorities and long-term growth initiatives.
“Together, Marthe and Matthew bring highly complementary expertise that will help Penn State Health further align strategy and execution and respond to a rapidly evolving health care environment,” Mumtaz Darbar, executive vice president and chief transformation officer for Penn State Health, said in a statement. “I am excited about the leadership, expertise and perspective they bring to our organization and look forward to the impact they will make as we continue advancing our mission.”
Haverkamp will lead efforts focused on operational excellence, performance improvement and data-driven decision-making, per the release. A physician executive with extensive experience in health care transformation, she most recently served as a senior leader in the Healthcare Industry Group at Alvarez & Marsal, a global professional services firm.
Throughout her career, Haverkamp has partnered with academic medical centers, health systems and physician organizations to improve performance, expand access to care and advance sustainable change initiatives.
Kemmann will help execute Penn State Health’s enterprise strategic plan. He brings nearly two decades of experience in strategic planning, business development, analytics and growth strategy. He served as director of strategic planning and analytics at University Hospitals Health System in northeast Ohio.
Haverkamp and Kemmann will work with leaders across Penn State Health to support strategic growth and the delivery of care to the communities the health system serves.
