(WHTM) — Republicans across Pennsylvania lost races up and down the ballot Tuesday.
A clear example of this was the loss of Republican Fran Chardo, a respected district attorney in Dauphin County, home to the state’s capital, in his bid for county judge. Chardo outraised his Democratic opponent, LaTasha Williams, who spent less than $3,000 on her campaign and did not hold an election night party.
Chardo said he was surprised by his loss. Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chair Eugene DePasquale said he saw a blue wave coming.
“I think it’s a couple things,” DePasquale said. “Number one, I think it was a clear rejection of the extremism and chaos of Washington, D.C., the Trump tariffs, increased prices and just the continual chaos.”
“I think the second part was, I think we ran smart, disciplined campaigns all over the state,” he added.
Now, DePasquale has his eyes set on the midterms.
