Better Health Pharmacy & Wellness in Olyphant participated in Save a Life Day on Thursday by distributing free Narcan to members of the community. Save a Life Day is a nationwide day of action focused on expanding access to naloxone, increasing awareness about overdose prevention and reducing the stigma surrounding substance use disorder. Naloxone, commonly known by the brand name Narcan, is an easy-to-use nasal spray that can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose. “Having Narcan readily available can mean the difference between life and death during an overdose emergency,” said Eric Pusey, R.Ph., CDE, owner of Better Health Pharmacy & Wellness, in a news release. “As a community pharmacy, we want our neighbors to feel informed, prepared and supported.”
