LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa. – A commercial motor vehicle went up in flames on Wednesday night on I-476 Northbound.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. near the Lehigh Valley Interchange northbound decel ramp under the Tilghman Street Bridge, police say.
Upon exiting, the CMV Operator said he detected smoke while driving, and then a passenger vehicle pulled up alongside him and indicated his brakes were on fire.
The truck operator pulled over to check the severity of the fire and was able to disconnect the truck from the trailer; however, he was unable to move it from underneath the bridge due to the flames.
Pennsylvania State Police say no one was injured in the incident.
Bridge inspections will be conducted by authorities.
