Adam Holman shot a 38 to lead West Scranton to wins over two-time defending PIAA Class 2A champion Scranton Prep, 162-169, and Scranton, 162-170, on Thursday in a Lackawanna League Division I boys golf tri-match at Pine Hills.

According to the District 2 website, Scranton Prep last lost a Lackawanna League regular season match Sept. 3, 2015, to Wallenpaupack, 6-3, at Woodloch Springs when match play was the format. Since that loss, Scranton Prep was unbeaten in 153 regular-season league matches with a record of 150-0-3. Since the Cavaliers tied Abington Heights in 2020, they won 77 straight matches.

Noah Lynch shot a 40, while Max Turi, who had birdies on eight and nine, and Mark Novak each shot a 42.

Packy James birdied the eighth hole and shot a 39, and Ty Millet chipped in for birdie on No. 7 and shot a 39 to lead the Cavaliers to a win over the Knights. Scranton Prep’s usual lineup that includes defending state champion Cole Powell, two-time All-Region selection Brendan Bell, Bobby Stott and Jack Pavuk did not play. When West Scranton and Scranton Prep played Aug. 24, the Cavaliers won, 147-173, at Pine Hills when Powell, Bell, Stott and Pavuk were in the lineup.

Jack Kerrigan shot a 39, and Travis Mendoza had birdies on five and eight and shot a 43 for Scranton.

Ian Scanlon shot a 35, Lucas Zuraski shot a 39 and Aaron Merrifield shot a 40 for the Spartans.

Spencer Ott had a birdie on seven and shot a 40 for the Sabers.

Tyler Soden birdied the ninth hole and shot a 35, Brennan Woosman birdied the third hole and Blake Slocum birdied the ninth hole for the Raiders.

Liz George shot a 44, and Margot Grad added a 49 for the Lady Comets.

Madison Walker shot a 43 to lead Tunkhannock to a win over Dallas.

Western Wayne’s Kaitlyn Kloss placed third and set a school record, running a time of 20:09.42. Maddie Kammer previously held the record at 20:50.

Holy Cross’ Gemma Bistran (21:30.58) placed fourth and Lakeland’s Rylin Wech (21:54.03) finished fifth.
