The Gannon University community are welcoming alumni, families, students, faculty, staff and friends back to campus for the university’s 2026 Homecoming and Family Weekend, a four-day celebration running through September 27.
The annual event features a variety of activities designed to reconnect alumni with their alma mater while giving current students and their families an opportunity to experience the traditions and spirit that define the Gannon community. Organizers say the weekend includes reunions, athletic events, family-friendly activities, and opportunities for alumni and students to build new memories together.
Among the weekend’s highlights is the university’s annual block party, Gannon on the Green, scheduled for Saturday evening beneath the Gannon Arch. The event will feature live music, food, entertainment, carnival games and activities for attendees of all ages.
Other featured events include the Annual Knight Nation Invitational in Honor of Bud Elwell golf outing, the Heritage Society Medallion Luncheon, and the Class of Distinguished Alumni Dinner, where five alumni will be recognized for their achievements and contributions.
Families and alumni can also participate in a Saturday tailgate before the Golden Knights football game and take guided trolley tours of campus, showcasing facilities including the Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge (I-HACK), the Center for Lake Erie Education and Research (CLEER), and the university’s Alumni House.
The weekend will conclude Sunday with the Alumni and Friends Mass at the Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel, bringing together members of the Gannon and Villa Maria College communities in a celebration of faith, tradition and service.
University officials say the event remains one of the year’s biggest opportunities to strengthen connections among alumni, students and families while celebrating Gannon’s history and future.
